Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Goal Getter ("we", "us") is a goal and habit tracker at goalgetter.online. This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we only collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data or show ads, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
What we collect
Account information
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
- If you sign in with Google: the name, email address and profile picture link that Google shares with us.
What you put into Goal Getter
- Your goals and their details: titles, descriptions, icons, colors, schedules, target dates and target amounts.
- Check-ins, milestones and progress entries, including any notes you add.
Settings and devices
- Your timezone (detected from your browser, or the one you choose in Settings), so check-ins land on the right day.
- If you turn on reminders: your reminder time, and for each device the push subscription your browser creates (a delivery address and encryption keys) plus a short description of the browser (its "user agent").
Technical information
- Our hosting and database providers automatically record basic request information, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the service running.
Cookies and similar technology
We use only the cookies the app needs:
- Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in.
tzandtz_pref, which store your browser's timezone and your chosen timezone.
If you turn on reminders, your browser also installs a small service worker that displays the notifications. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To run the app: storing your goals, calculating streaks and progress, and showing your dashboard and calendar.
- To send the emails you need, such as account confirmation and password resets.
- To send the daily reminders you turn on, and only those.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Service providers
- Supabase: our database and sign-in provider. It stores your account and goal data, on servers in the United States (Oregon), and sends account emails.
- Vercel: hosts the website and processes requests to it.
- Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in.
- Your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft): delivers reminders to your device if you turn them on. Reminder contents are encrypted, so the push service can't read them.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account), your account and all your goals, check-ins, milestones, progress and reminder settings are deleted from our database right away. Copies may remain in our providers' backups and logs for a limited period before they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: download everything as JSON or CSV from Settings → Export your data.
- Correct: edit your goals and entries at any time, and change your password in Settings.
- Delete: delete your account and all its data from Settings.
- Reminders: turn them off in Settings, or block notifications in your browser.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have additional rights over your personal information. To use any of them, or if something above doesn't cover your request, email support@goalgetter.online.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and the database enforces that each account can only read and change its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you about any breach that affects it as the law requires.
Children
Goal Getter isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. If the changes are significant, we'll also let you know in the app or by email.
